The growing season in this cool region began late, causing concern that these turn-of-the-century vines might not ripen.  The grapes were picked at full ripeness in the very last days of October and, miraculously, were among the lovliest of a fine vintage.Balanced, with intense fruit and spice, this splendid wine is approachable now.
