Holm Oak Vineyards was planted in 1983 by current winemaker Bec Duffy's parents and is one of the oldest vineyards in Tasmania, Australia. The vineyard is named after the Holm Oak trees that originally occupied the land and were used to make Alexander Patent Racquets in the 1930's. Today Bec and her viticulturist husband, Tim, manage the property together with Bec as the head winemaker and Tim in charge of the vines. All of their wine is made from estate fruit with the cool climate of Tasmania producing a crisp, dry Chardonnay with flavors of citrus and stone fruit. The use of 20% new French oak barrels gives the wine a subtle baking spice finish and the extended lees contact adds a beautiful texture!
