In 288 pages, with index of Recipes & pen-and-ink illustrations throughout by British artist Sir Francis Rose, a long-time friend of Toklas & her lifetime companion, Gertrude Stein. DJ cover photo is a watercolor of Toklas painted in Paris by Dora Maar in 1952. The cookbook, written by Toklas after the death of Stein, recreates meals from the dinner parties they gave in Paris, with over 350 recipes.
